My second pair of beaded earrings in my Geometric Beadwork series.
These were beaded my match my necklace Geometric 2.8.1 (collar for a rangoli girl) and again feature a small amount of guilt relieving wirework!

These were made to match the Glamour set I've posted for week 20. Oxidised and polished sterling and fine silver and tiny faceted citrines. I was really excited to make them - it's my cuff-link debut ;)
The heads are 15mm by 8mm large and are convex. More pictures in my gallery :)
Thank you!

I recently bought some cool shaped stakes, and played
around a bit with directed forging (trying to move the metal in
specific directions by hammering) - this is my first result. It was
great fun to make... I really like the stakes! I've made
bangles by curving heavy wire before hammering, but this is the first
time I've created one like this from a straight, thick strip, and it
was pretty cool to watch it curve as I was forging... For reference, this was a 7 1/2" length of 5mm x 2mm silver...

I had originally posted a netted basket pendant using a tumbled citrine, but just constructed this brooch and felt it better suited the theme so decided to change it out. Red aventurine cab, red coral rounds and faceted carnelian were used in this one. It's rather large, but hangs really nice... not so bulky that it droops when being worn. It's one of my personal favorites. I don't do a lot of brooches, but the end result with this one will have me making tons more.
Enjoy.

Trying to get back on track. My inventory is low after my recent show - thank goodness! It was the best show in two years surprisingly. I have lots of work to do to build my stock up before I can even apply to another show but have been playing heck trying to find time and space to work in. I got up early yesterday so that I could carve out some time and space to work in before my kids woke up. :) I didn't get much time, but I managed to produce this little piece.
It's a whimsical little pendant. I was thinking of the perfume bottle pendants that I've seen out there ... and whereas I wanted to run with that idea, I wanted to make it a little different than the other bottle pendants out there. So of course, I netted it up. Not a huge difference, but enough for it to be 'Delia's take'. It's a prasolite bead for the body of the bottle (unfortunately you can see the drill hole because the stone is so clear) with a jeweled stopper of green garnet with a single pale green Tundra sapphire accent on the front. It's sparkels so wonderfully in bright light, but I couldn't get my camera to focus on the bright metals so I had to take the pic in shade. I am of course, torn over whether or not I should oxidize. I think I probably will eventually.
In the end, I decided it was more of a potion bottle than a perfume bottle because all the beautiful pale greens reminded me of the shoreline here (I live along the beautiful Emerald Coast) and the netting of course reminded me of fishing and fish nets ... so who came to mind? Posiden, of course.
I also have a new blog which I will be using for my YOJ journal. It's on wordpress (beats the heck out of the old blogger!). The new URL for my blog is: deliastonesstudio.wordpress.com
This was a new project or design for me and is in its infancy. That said, I can tell you that it needs improvements. Still, it was fun but time-consuming to make. The second picture shows the back where a plate can have something inscribed, like a date or name or a special word. I used brass, I thought, but it was plated and I polished it too much. Therefore, I had to use enamel paint on this one. That is not what I want to have to do. Play and learn.
