Dangle Earrings

Week13 Since I am so far behind, I decided to let my muse do it's thing and not worry about the theme.  These are from the tutorial in Step by Step Wire (I think)-- I used clear quartz and pink tourmeline for the dangles.  I sure wish the picture was clearer.  Anyway- I have another pair that I ventured off from these and will post later.  One of my personal goals is to do a tutorial and then incorporate that techinque into my vision.

Week 12: Totally failed experiment

I'm so behind! A whopping 5 weeks. I haven't been making any jewelry. But this time for a good reason. I fell in love :). At least I think that is a good excuse lol.
So about this piece. My new BF loves to dart so I thought I'd make him a dart arrow pendant to wear. Well I'm so not pleased with the result. It's way to large to be a pendant for a guy I think. It's 2.6" (6.6cm). Now I'm thinking of ways to save it. Maybe do it horizontally by attaching chain? But where to I attach the chain? I can do some basic soldering. Or maybe make it into something else? It is made out of SS wire. And I plan to oxidize it. You see I need help! So any comments would really be appreciated! Dart

Week 12 - Stormy Weather

So Stormy weather was all I had here for more than a month. A day would be sunny and then in a matter of minutes, clouds would take over the sky and it would rain hard! So I made this earrings with these gorgeous marquises of lemon qtz, they're very big! I call them drops of sun :) So they're some drops of sun with some dark clouds over them. Lemon qtz, smoky qtz and oxidised silver.

Hearts and Bars

Heartsnbarsweb I made this as a class sample for a class I taught called "Layered Mixed-Metal Soldered Pendant." Lots of skills were covered in this session! Sawing, hammering stamping and riveting. Hammering, then soldering of the sterling "bars". Heat treating to a rainbow patina. Finally, we learn how to wrap the ends of the leather cord and make a clasp!

I brought in my Little Torch set up and also my small butane "creme brulee" torch to play with. When I teach these days, I have to schlep nearly my entire workbench!! But it's worth it and great fun...

Week 12-another Tut

Week13_2 Step-by-Step magazine had this great tutorial.  I used fine and sterling silver with pink tourmaline and clear quartz.  I enjoy wearing them with a BlueFish shirt.  I have another design worked out to post soon.  I am challenging myself to do a tutorial and then take it several steps further and develop it into my own.  I am definitely learning even though I am way behind!  I have more to post, hopefully tomorrow.

Caged Amethyst -Shaktipaj

CagedamethystpendantEver since I was a kid, I've loved those pendants that have a caged, yet free bead. Most of the time they enclose a pearl or a clear glass bead with a mustard seed. I've chosen an amethyst 12mm round. The simplicity attracts me, but not so much that I couldn't go a little nuts on the bail.LOL Lots of fun, and not too much wire. 20g, 24g, 26g a few sterling beads.

I always appreciate comments!  Hugs, Perri

Sorry - I am late late late.

This is a new 'thing' I'm playing with -- lines.

Ring and two pendants:

Feedback welcome - these are REALLY rough. The ring was done in about 30 minutes and the pendants in half that. There are stray marks, my hand will get steadier I hope!

Week 12 - Melissa Muir

Enamalclearswirl Enamalblackswirl Once again, the piece is done on time but not the post. *sigh* I am sure I will get it one of these days. ;)

This is one of my very first enameled pieces. It was a lot of fun. The back is black and the front is a clear enamel on copper.
