Week 20 - Janice
More hollow ring - here is my second completed hollow ring. We've been having a great discussion on hole or no hole for subsequent solderings on a hollow form over at the Jewelry Artists Network Forum so I decided to try this one with no hole. The entire ring puffed up and then blew a seam (quite loudly I might add) so my 4 stones ended up being 1 since only one setting was soldered on at that time. I hammered the ring on a flat planishing stake to get rid of the puff, but it retained a little as can be seen by the light reflection.

I don't know what your plan was for the other stones, but I really like the balance of this ring exactly as it is. And I think the puff adds a soft dimension. On the other hand, I'm glad you didn't get hurt when your ring exploded! I bet you learned way more from it playing out the way it did than if it had gone perfectly, though. I think it's very pretty!
