Spring Flower - Hammered Sterling and Pink Sapphire
I have been trying different ways to make flowers and wanted to create a simple hammered wire one, and this is what I came up with over the weekend as one of my prototypes. Not especially happy with it, but I wore it to work today on a simple 16 inch snake chain and actually got a couple of compliments - go figure! So, I guess this one is mine...back to the drawing board. :)

Ohh, how nice!! I like this a lot! :)

Oh gosh, it's so simply put together, which makes it all the more elegant looking. I love the central stone and the hammered petals. What the heck do ya use to hammer the wire anyway, without damaging it? And isn't it funny that the pieces we aren't always pleased with ourselves are always the ones others seem to like? I'll never understand it, lol, but I do like this one.

Thanks Nikki and Janice! Sometimes the pieces you least expect to get noticed do! Nikki - I just put the flower on my bench block and whacked it with my chasing hammer...I flattened it first a bit using the flat side, then texturized it with the ball end. If you haven't hammered wire yet, you should...it's very cathartic!

Hello, I really like this, I saw one in a butterfly style with two colors of wire, on a woman in the bank the other day un hammered and it really caught my eye. I think if you did the petals in two or three colors or maybe a loose wrap around the petals in say copper or gold or vise verse then hammer it would be a very unique piece.
