From My Heart to Yours (Mother's Day)

This is a pendant I made specifically for my mother, so there's nothing overtly "birth" or "sacred rites" about its construction. Her birthstone is garnet, and because I didn't have any nice garnets, I decided to use some beautiful faceted poppyseed jasper. It's 14k gold-filled, which I had to dig and scrape for out of the bits and pieces I had left, lol, but luckily I had enough to make something I think turned out very nice. I didn't want to wait until my next wire order came in for fear this wouldn't arrive to her in time for Mother's Day. It's larger than she generally wears, but I think (hope, anyway) that she'll love it. The smaller hanging heart represents me, and the larger heart represents her.

She just suffered a mild stroke two days ago and, though she's going to pull through and be fine, it scared me a LOT since I live 1200 miles away. All my sisters and my brother are with her, however, so I'm set at ease a bit. Since all this happened, it was doubly important for me to create something for her so she'll know how much I love her. It's a simple pendant, but our relationship has been so complicated over the years that I felt simplicity was the best approach.
