Wire_bangle_2 I have always wanted to try a Connie Fox style bangle, and actually had all the materials I needed for one.

The bracelet was made in sterling silver, with some bali silver beads, some hand made glass beads (not mine), and a hand made swan clasp.

This was my first real attempt at oxidising, and i really like the results.

Gem144aRapidly trying to catch up with the Year of Jewelry, now that I have some time. This one is called "Half time", because it looks like half of an hour glass and because it seems like these days there is never time enough to do everything I want to, heehee. The stone is a stunning 15mm round faceted amethyst given to me as a gift. I wrapped it in a basket weave bezel.

I am late, I know...  This was actually done the right week (they all were!) BUT - Finding the time and/or energy to photograph, upload, edit, and then post....  sigh...  But, I suddenly had a burst of energy once I cancelled the dandblasted show!  so here we are!

I really like this piece.  Wonderful colors.  I knew I wanted to use the hemimorphite flat drops as soon as I saw the theme.  They have such a wonderful color to them, and a great sheen IRL!  There's a MOP focal, two slightly different shades of amazonite, and the ends of the beaded drops are peruvian opal.  Lots of siver beads and there ya go!

Week8

070204b Done on time but I have been away from the computer for several weeks and unable to post.  This is another fingerweaving piece using Robin Atkins' instructions.  The strands are lightly twisted, and can be more tightly twisted if desired.

Another image will be up on my blog shortly.  As always, comments are appreciated!

Viking_bangle A thousand pardons for the lateness of this.  Ive been flat out looking for a new job after being retrenched mid February.  Found a new one today wooo hoooo.  This is a viking knit piece in fine silver made into a bangle by inserting a larger guage of wire through the centre and finishing with Sterling Silver caps and beads.  The viking knit piece had been sitting looking at me for about a month, too big for a bracelet, too small for a necklace but with the twists in the ends became just right for an interesting bangle.

Beads_1 I'm trying out more new wire techniques. For the larger wired bead I used a tutorial from BeadStudio. I don't have any tutorials for the smaller piece so I just made it up as I went along.  It took a lot of tries to get it to look halfway decent.  I couldn't decide what to do with these pieces and I want to find instructions for the smaller one so I can do it properly.   I have a set of these faceted rhodonite beads in graduated sizes so this will eventually become a bracelet or necklace.

One of my self-imposed challenges is to use materials I already have and I don't have a lot of wire in gauges heavier than 26.  I only have small amouts of 18 and 20 gauge silver, a lot of 22 gauge black and a fair amount of 24 gauge gold and silver.

I now have a blog! and everything I've done so far is posted there.

Elegantweddingearrings

A dear friend of mine who really loves chandelier earrings asked for a pair to wear to a formal affair. There were only 2 requisites: they had to be long, and they had to be "fabulous". These puppies are 3 1/2 inches long, with Sterling, freshwater pearls and AB Swarovskis. She squealed and then declared them definitely fabulous. They really accented her swan neck and strapless gown. I'm glad she was pleased. Comments and critiques welcome, Perri
