Week 30- Shaktipaj

Okay, this I consider a failed experiment. Too little bang for the buck, too ornate, too, too, too. Lots of 26 and 28 g ss wire. I like the techniques, but don't care for the outcome. Ah well, best laid plans and all that. I'm so disgusted, I can't even take the time to LOS it right now, but if I do, I'll post it later.

Salsaaaa!

Hot and spicy and out of the flame of my torch. I too am playing "catch up". A commissioned piece from someone who loves red, so I gave her a choice between this one and the one I'm posting for week 37.

Got to sparkle when you salsa!!

Well you probably meant the salsa you eat but the Salsa dance is very HOT!!! I imagine that if you were doing the salsa you would need a bit of sparkle and dangles so I made a bracelet of segmented byzantine with Siam Swarovski dangles. Not a full of dangles but just enough to get a latin fire glowing.

week 30 - so behind...

...but there's no time like the present to start catching up.  This is 2 necklaces that can be worn together or separately - with celtic beads, some swarovski bicones, seed beads and small brass hex cut seed beads from my grandmother's bead collection.

Jean Power- week 30- Eye Bead Necklace

Ok- I know I'm posting in reverse order!
I made this necklace weeks ago but really struggled to get a photo of it so it's here very late.
This was a piece I experimented with quite a lot until I got the look I wanted. You can see some of my experiments and samples here.
I knew I wanted to mix herringbone and peyote stitch, it just took a while to get the bead, stitch and colour combinations right!
I still haven't even attempted to begin to write up how to make it!

Week 30 - weirdlywired

Shield your eyes, lots of bling ahead.
Made on request. Twelve 4mm Swarovski crystals in blues and purples on a Pom Pom ring finding. I recently saw a how to in a Step by Step Wire issue for making the shanks. I've never tried doing them with more than one loop, but I do mine differently in the sense that I have all of my dangles made and thread them into the loop before finishing the shank. It can be fidgety, but works better IMO than adding the dangles after the shank is created...

Spicy Babe

Salsa / Spicy

Although I was first drawn to using reds and fiery oranges, I decided to think about Dancing Salsa.

I learnt Salsa with a Cuban Man. It was fantastic, full of rythm and lascive moves, Sexy and Hot.

Women wear tiny skirts that move and lift the air around them with the slightest movement. They are beautiful. Long slim and muscular legs, dark hair, high heels, lipstick and a tiny handbag with an attitude.

Week 30 - Eni Oken

This pendant was created almost the same way as the one created for week 18 Abalone Netted Pendant, however, the results turned out quite different. The abalone piece was much lighter and had softer colors than the original, so I combined it with white potato pearls and moonstone. A much softer and sweeter piece, in my opinion.

Spicy

I've got a bit behind with posting, although I have completed the projects on time, honest!

This week's project is a short lariat (first one I've done in ages!) and a matching pair of earrings. The lampwork beads are by Julie Merrett and I've used sterling silver and orange aventurine. Using orange was a challenge for me as I tend to use alot of blues/purples, sometimes reds and browns, but never ever orange! Not completely happy with the photo of the lariat - I was rushing to take it before the rain started again!
