Week 18 - Turquoise and Crystals

A simple necklace and earrings set.  I used sterling silver, Turquoise and Swarovski crystals.  This type of necklace is popular with my customers and this one has also sold. =)  -Nancy

Elven Mists

This is a product of me trying to reproduce an existing design while refining the construction process in preparation for a tutorial announcement.:^)  I also wanted to see just how fine the body of this could be made for an airier look. Got my answers! The largest gauge in this is 26. Difference is that it is also wrapped with 26 - for the same net "strength" yet a more open feel. What do you think?

WOW!!  I am soooooooo far behind.  I want to apologize to everyone for falling so far behind.  I hope to catch up very soon.  Real life has been hectic around here lately.

This is a watch that I made for my Mom while they were visiting.  Diamond shaped watchface with pink crystals and a rhodonite band.  She loved it!!

Myths

Another one of my Angels.  This one is actually being donated to be sold or auctioned to support breast cancer research.  I made a goddess one similar to this piece a long time ago, which was quickly purchased as a talisman for a lady suffering from breast cancer.  I recently discovered that she passed away, and the person who bought it for her donated the purchase amount to research as the owner had requested that it be given away or sold...  But the purchaser kept it instead.  When I found this out, I felt it only right that THIS one be given directly to charity.  Labradorite beads, and sterling wire and beads.

Myths and gods? Nah. I'm seriously off topic here, and catching up! Jewelry got made, but never got posted!

Here are two Connie Fox style summery bangles. I just loved these glass beads with the captured bubbles.

Better late than never...

Actually this piece and the ones for week 19 have been done but I was out of town for a while and didn't get them posted.  The pendant was inspired by the photo of one I saw for sale that had emeralds and diamonds.  The only thing the same about mine is the shape.  The blue beads are glass and the others are Swarovski AB.  Wish my photo was better cause I'm pretty proud of this one.  Getting better at the wrapping.

Week 18: Myths (Lynn)

A few weeks ago, I was commissioned by a gal who owns a gallery where I have some work to do some pieces for her.  She and her husband are opening a new upscale but casual martini bar and wanted to have the wait staff wear my jewelry as part of their uniform!  The challenge was to come up with something I wouldn't get sick of recreating, could offer for sale in the gallery (downstairs from the bar), and was fairly unisex.

I had a number of tumbled and polished stones that Dad had given me and picked through them looking for something I could wrap.  I found a number of nice, flattish stones in varying shapes and sizes, and used a draw to make the square copper wire for wrapping.  The photo is a sampling of the resulting necklaces - which the owners and the staff absolutely love. :-)  Plus, it's something I can do a few of at a time, and not want to tear my hair out because it's too "manufactured".

Oh...the theme connection?  The name of the new bar is "Myth" :0)

Week 18 - Myths - Ellen/rubystar

Not on theme, but I finally did something with this beginning of a Romanov bracelet that's been waiting patiently to grow up and become something beautiful!

I never got too far with it, because these rings are sooooo tiny that I kept putting off working on it! So I separated the bracelet section into earrings instead. Finished! And I even have one more section left. Keep your eyes peeled to see when it appears! LOL!

I made this necklace to discuss how we are all on a journey and all intertwined.  I sold this piece this week and it was like giving away one of my kids.  from sketches to completion it has taken me almost a year.
